Janet Scannel

Janet Scannel serves as the chief technology officer at Carleton College. In her role, she has made significant effort in expanding support for teaching and learning, placed an emphasis on campus partnership and proactive IT communications, encouraged creative staffing and professional development, increased cybersecurity efforts, and recently launched a Workday implementation.

Prior to Carleton, Janet was director of computing services at Bryn Mawr College and an adjunct faculty member in instructional technology at Philadelphia University.

Janet is a member of the Frye Institute class of 2006, has served two terms on the CLAC Board and has served on regional and national EDUCAUSE program committees.

Janet earned her BA from Grinnell College, a BS in mechanical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and an MS in computer science from Stanford University.
