Boston College, the oldest higher education institution in Boston, operated on its University Information System (UIS) for decades. After facing technical limitations and constraints, the institution wanted to modernize its core UIS technology. Beginning in 2008, the institution faced a long journey toward modernization. In 2014, the institution, working with an outside firm, developed a new component-based student system called EagleApps.
