Over the past decade, Aims Community College has invested in removing customizations from its on-premises enterprise resource planning system to streamline operations and reduce the level of effort required to maintain its ERP applications. From 2017 to 2019, Aims conducted a college-wide business process analysis and reengineering effort, hiring business analysts in several functional areas. It became apparent that migrating to a cloud-based ERP system was the best long-term strategy for reducing ongoing technology maintenance and freeing Aims staff to focus on modernizing and transforming the institution’s business processes.
