When to Brief Our Analysts

The Tambellini Group encourages higher education technology solutions and service providers to brief our analysts when introducing a new product or service, changing a business model, or contemplating a partnership, merger, or acquisition.

The Tambellini Group analysts schedule briefings at their discretion based purely on an interest in the vendor, its technologies, and its marketplace.

Why You Should Brief with Tambellini

Vendor briefings are vital to the higher education industry, which relies on Tambellini research and services to help guide technology strategies and procurements. Analysts meet with hundreds of institutions each year, and vendor briefings can help clarify essential information and enhance Tambellini analysts’ knowledge of vendor products, services, strategies, and changes that may impact the higher education market.

Inclusion in Research for Clients

A vendor briefing provides a unique opportunity for higher education technology vendors and service providers to present products and services and share business updates with our analysts for input into the analysts’ research.

Mentions in Public-Facing Content

In addition to client-only research, vendor-related information may also appear in public content. Tambellini analysts publish blog posts, participate in webinars, and develop a variety of content with helpful information for institutions. Vendor briefings can ensure a vendor’s solutions are included in relevant content categories.

How to Request a Vendor Briefing

Complete the request form. Once submitted, we will route your request to the appropriate analyst(s) within two business days. You will be notified within five business days if your request for a vendor briefing has been accepted.

Vendor briefings are typically scheduled within 2–4 weeks of an accepted request. If more than one analyst is required for a briefing, it will take longer to schedule. If there is timely market information to share, Tambellini will make every effort to accommodate a requested timeline.

Tambellini-Requested Briefing

Tambellini maintains an unbiased view of the market and covers higher education technology vendors and service providers regardless of whether the vendor or service provider is a Tambellini client. Analysts determine their publication calendar up to a year in advance and request vendor briefings to provide additional information to support their research.

Vendor Briefing Format

Tambellini Group conducts vendor briefings via video conference. All presentation materials should be forwarded to the analyst three days before the briefing. Vendor briefings are scheduled for 55 minutes and may be recorded at the analyst’s discretion. Recordings are only accessible by Tambellini analysts after the call.

Face-to-face vendor briefings are infrequent and are scheduled at the analyst’s discretion and based on analyst travel requirements. A briefing could take place at a vendor conference or an industry event. Guidelines for face-to-face briefings remain the same as for video conference briefings.

Non-clients cannot provide any information to Tambellini under NDA. Tambellini clients can provide limited information under NDA during a briefing if the information is clearly marked, limited, and has an expiration date. Clients are subject to the contractual agreement established with their subscription.

The Role of the Analyst

Vendor briefings are one-way presentations by the vendor to the analyst. The analyst participates in the briefing to gather information. Throughout the briefing, the analyst may ask clarifying questions based on their knowledge of the vendor, customers, and objectives. Analysts’ questions can range from specifics about customer experiences and product features or functionality to your company strategy, pricing, and competitive positioning.
