Tambellini Group Spotlight
Irvington, Virginia — November 1, 2021 — Tambellini Group announced today that it has further expanded the breadth and depth of its research and advisory expertise with the addition of national expert Dr. D. Christopher Brooks as Senior Higher Education Industry Analyst.
Tambellini Group has more than doubled the size of its team since 2019 to meet the higher education market’s burgeoning demand for unbiased technology research and analysis.
“Dr. Brooks has an impressive track record and stellar reputation for thought leadership and influential research,” said Vicki Tambellini, CEO and President. “We are proud to have him join our team and contribute to our work to serve institutions in their efforts to strategically leverage their technology investments.”
Dr. Brooks has more than two decades of higher education experience, spanning roles as an instructor, professor, and researcher at several universities, including the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He has co-authored two books, published dozens of research articles, reports, and blogs, and delivered keynote addresses and research presentations all over the world. Prior to joining Tambellini Group, Dr. Brooks served as EDUCAUSE’s Director of Research.
“The decisions institutions make about technology tools and platforms are central to the daily work of faculty and students,” said Dr. Brooks. “That’s why I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues to help Tambellini members think critically about the choices they make and their influence on every facet of education, especially the student experience.”
Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Brooks has specialized in research focused on the impact of educational technology on teaching practices and learning outcomes. His early work at the University of Minnesota explored how active learning classrooms shaped instructional methodologies for faculty and student engagement in their courses.
During his tenure at EDUCAUSE, Dr. Brooks led a research agenda covering a wide range of topics beyond teaching and learning, including infrastructure and research technologies, IT administrative business services, and the role of the CIO in strategic decision-making.
Dr. Brooks also has extensive teaching experience, having served as a lecturer in Political Science at the University of Minnesota, Morris, and as an assistant professor of Political Science at St. Olaf College. While pursuing his doctoral degree at Indiana University, he earned the K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award from the American Association for Higher Education.
“Teaching has been a long-standing passion of mine, and I’m a firm believer in the value of a liberal arts education,” said Dr. Brooks. “Ultimately, my commitment to research is driven by an interest in improving higher education for the greater good.”
